Last year we had two OnePlus phones i.e. OnePlus 7 & 7 Pro. Both have same chipsets but there are few tweaks that makes OnePlus 7 Pro a step ahead in premium smartphone market.
The OnePlus 7 Pro mobile features a 6.67″ (16.94 cm) display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels and runs on Android v9.0 (Pie) operating system. The device is powered by Octa core (2.84 GHz, Single core, Kryo 485 + 2.42 GHz, Tri core, Kryo 485 + 1.8 GHz, Quad core, Kryo 485) processor paired with 6 GB of RAM.
The OnePlus 7 Pro features a 6.67-inch QHD+ (3120×1440 pixels) resolution Fluid AMOLED curved display with no notches or punch holes. It also offers a 90Hz refresh rate for a smooth experience and is HDR10+ certified. OnePlus has taken the pop-selfie camera route and the company claims that it can take 50 selfies daily for 16.5 years. The handset has a frosted glass finish at the back, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a triple camera at the back.
On to the juicy stuff. Our review unit of the OnePlus 7 Pro comes with 12GBGB of RAM, an amount that we have a hard time justifying for a phone. Still, its definitely a lot of glitter, and some gold. The Phone runs on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 chipset and with 12GB of RAM, it has more than enough room to flex its muscle. There’s even UFS 3.0 storage to ensure there’s nothing bottle-necking the performance package here, and it all looks very impressive on paper.
The main 48MP sensor is Sony’s flagship IMX596 with f/1.6 aperture, 1/2-inch sensor size and OIS. The camera setup looks solid on paper and things get even better when you get more variety of shots with the 10MP wide-angle lens offering a 117-degrees field of view with f/2.2 aperture and the 8MP telephoto lens with 3X optical zoom. Another highlight feature of the camera is the three modes of focus – PDAF, CAF and Laser AF.
The OnePlus 7 Pro is fairly priced against the competition such as Galaxy S10, iPhone Xr. But if you’re looking for performance and have less focus on the camera department then it is your pick the cameras are decent but the Galaxy S10 does a nice job at this price point and offers more detail in rear camera. The iPhone Xr is also a decent option people looking for a less priced iPhone. This can also turn out to be a good gaming phone.
