Xiaomi has opted for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC to power the Redmi Note 7S and it does deliver a lag-free experience. Our unit had 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, a lower variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage is also available at a lower price.
There is support for Widevine L1 DRM on the Redmi Note 7S, so you will be able to enjoy Netflix and Amazon Prime video at HD resolutions. The speaker is loud and we enjoyed watching content on this smartphone. We wish the positioning of the speaker was a little better, as it is very easy to muffle it while holding the device in landscape.
The Note 7S draws power from a 4,000mAh battery which supports 18W fast charging courtesy Quick Charge 4.0. However, Xiaomi only provides a 10W adapter in-the-box.
This is a better option than Note 7 and has a big camera but still has same performance like Note 7. Realme 5 and 5 Pro are still better options if you like ColorOS. You can also consider Note 7 Pro which has a faster processor. The Mi A3 is also a nice option for photography and stock ROM experience.
